Electric Hour - Sword II

I LOVE this album. Sword II makes the type of rock music that I wish more bands were making in 2025. So many catchy riffs and the guitar tone is just perfect over all. Favorites have to be Sentry, Under the Scar, and Even if it's Just a Dream.

Mind Palace Music – @

This album is remarkable because it takes you away into another place, kinda like a palace in your mind (hmm interesting). It’s very folk inspired, a little melancholy perhaps, but very relaxing and thought-invoking. The raw vocal layering and almost echo-y sounds are haunting in a beautiful way. The song that stands out to me is Cut From Toxic cloth, the lyrics are meaningful and the rhythm calming.

"104 Degrees" - Slaughter Beach, Dog

Sun is down early, it’s cold, modern baseball and slaughter beach, dog is on.

Something to Consume – Die Spitz

The album is a great example of modern heavy rock done right. It has that hazey gutteral feel while still sounding crisp and showing off their instrumentation prowess. Some stand out tracks for me were “Throw Yourself to the Sword” and “Down on It.”

July, December - Racecourse

Melancholy words and tunes perfect for winter. The album feels like a rise and fall from one season to the next.

Standing On The Shoulder of Giants - Oasis

I really like how it was such a deviation from their classic sound and they went very outside what people expected from them. it was really polarizing but i think it’s aged greatly.

Something Good Has Got To Come Out Of All These Goodbyes – The Lazarus Plot

I’m in love with Laura Laurents’ voice, she’s everything I wish to be in a band. The structure of every song is poetic, but not exhausting/what you always hear . my favorite in the album is "Ending Time" !

"Formspring" - Renny Conti

This feels like a modern version of an Elliott Smith song, it's a dynamic combination of a guy who loves his acoustic guitar first and foremost but also knows exactly what he's doing in the studio. The melody is whimsical, it reminds me of a grown-up Shel Silverstein poem (my goat). The little flourishes on this track are playful and create this rich texture to what is still a relatively simple song.....j'adore.

The Radio Goodnight – M.I.J.

Cannot get enough of this band as of late. this album has zero misses, is hella emo, has catchy riffs, sad acoustic ballads , melancholic vocals and everything else in between. one of the best emo/indie rock albums i’ve had the pleasure of discovering. it’s still sunny in january so happy emo music is on the up, and this the soundtrack. oh yup. 10/10. favorite tracks: the swing town pledge, your stories, west

"90 in November" - Why Bonnie

Autumn in January! Peace in the chaos! This song is listened to best while driving along the tree-lined roads of San Luis Obispo with your windows half down. Enjoyyy.
