What's .WAV Listening To? - Feb 2025

"Toxicity" – System of A Down

This song is roughly the same vibe as that guy body slamming everyone during the Letdowns Bunker set. And it’s the best thing in the world. Being yelled at by System of a Down is definitely the easiest way to make your day awesome.

Ram – Paul McCartney

I am not yet so adroit with my nudes. The bed, the functional deuteragonist here, is always strewn, flayed, untidy. My body is sharp with preconceived maleness and my clavicles awkwardly stretch skin. The environmental situation is made denser with distracting iniquity when I try to enhance my twinkish silhouette and abandon the "impulsive" supine, my bathroom mirror unfortunately still a part of my bathroom, the naked subject bookended with pill and shampoo bottles: a wider, unintentional story being told, the humanity of which clashes with the beauty I always try to approximate as elusive, of a different taxa. The counter is still unclean. This approximation, I think, should be mastered before one reaches twenty. Sluthood is not just a destination. Whole panoplies of life close up, figs dry, the longer you go without learning it. These are my thoughts when Paul McCartney sings: "you took your lucky break and broke it in two."

To The Faithful Departed - The Cranberries

At the beginning of the month, a friend gifted me a CD of this album. Naturally, it has been on repeat (and I now have a new poster on my wall). “When You’re Gone” and “The Rebels” are my February favorites.

"Everlasting Love" - Club 8

Light and cheerful little tune getting me so hyped for springtime. 6 more weeks of winter my ASS! (yo am i allowed to say ass on here)

Perla – Prism Bitch

This whole album is the an amazing run through. Got to see them in Fresno and their energy is off the charts. Amazing people and their charm is how relatable they are. This album is 10/10 in my heart and will be listening until im 100 years old.

"Tears Dry - Original Version" - Amy Winehouse

It's been a month. Man, has it been a month.

Tezeta - Mulatu Astake

For any moment and any mood. Blissful.

"Rocky Raccoon" – The Beatles

I reenter my Beatles obsession every year or so and somehow forget how good they are each time

Echoes – The Rapture

I recently listened to House of Jealous Lovers for the first time and that on a bike ride home with no worries to come was spectacular. The album entirely carries a giant surge of energy that evolves start to finish. The Rapture creates such a creative and powerful jangle of noise paired with Luke Jenner’s voice in this album. You will be pumped.
