Sonic Excess In Its Purest Form - Crowbar

Crowbar has gone a long time being under-appreciated but after receiving a lot of attention from memes online people have finally begun to realize how great the really are. Their whole discography is a mastery of heavy, chugging, and mortality confronting metal but Sonic Excess in its Purest Form is a great album to start and one of my favorite albums from them. In this kind of genre it can be common for bands to fall stagnant in their sound but Crowbar always feels dynamic and like they are building onto what they have already established.

Stand out song is for sure the first track "Blue Hum." This whole album's vibe is so experimental which is why I've grown so fond of it. There's a whole story behind the album which adds such a nice element to the making of the sound. If you want to listen to something different, good, and experimental from a classic UK artist, I definitely recommend this album!
